Abbot's Letter: Entering the New Year with Open Hands

Dear Sangha Members and Friends
As we cross the threshold of the new year, I am moved by the depth of practice and the sincerity of heart I see among our community. The challenges of recent times have not diminished your commitment — if anything, they have deepened the roots of your practice.
The teachings remind us that adversity is not an obstacle to the path; it is the path. Each difficulty we meet with patience becomes a stone on which bodhichitta is sharpened. Each moment of generosity, however small, ripples outward in ways we cannot fully see.
Our Aspirations for the Year Ahead
This year, we aspire to deepen our bilingual community — creating more space for practice, study, and service that truly bridges our Chinese-speaking and English-speaking members. We also hope to welcome visiting teachers from the Drikung Kagyu lineage for teachings and empowerments.
Thank you for being the heart of Lotus Light. May the year ahead bring peace, clarity, and the fulfilment of all beneficial aspirations.
