Ten Thousand Lamps for the Dharma
Our annual Great Lamp Offering Ceremony fills the temple with the warm light of thousands of butter lamps, symbolising the dispelling of ignorance and the illumination of wisdom. This auspicious ceremony is held on the occasion of the anniversary of Lord Jigten Sumgön's enlightenment.
Each lamp is sponsored by a member of the community and dedicated to a person or aspiration of their choice. The entire ceremony is conducted as a silent offering, with soft chanting of the Mani mantra throughout.
